the moon out in morning,

an early weekend rise --


half a pebble in a slight-blue

sky. you may have seen it last


night, among stars, friends.

you probably never thought


'when will I see this again?'

and one day it will be your time,


but the moon will keep appearing

over every earthly skyline.
